Winchester residents face penalties for failing to return personal property interrogatories left by assessors. City Commissioner of the Revenue C W Trenaty urges quick completion and return to his office, warning of possible stricter methods and penalties under state law.
The Neidemeyer and Company local furniture business is renamed Ramsey Furniture Company. William L. Ramsey remains manager, with his father Otho M. Ramsey of Martinsburg WV involved as president of Otho M. Ramsey and Company. Neidemeyer has not been connected to the firm since last December.
A non-suit was entered in Circuit Court yesterday in the Planters National Bank of Frederick Va v Ernest B Clevenger. The bank seeks 10000 on a Natalie Oil Company note endorsed by Clevenger. Clevenger argued lack of protest notice as required by statute. Plaintiffs were represented by Godrick Houston Jr and Ford of Fredericksburg. Defendant by Williams Barton Russell Cather of the local bar.
The Post Office Depart ment in Washington has announced appoint ment of six fourth class postmasters in Virginia including Mrs Naomi M Shockey to succeed E Jan ney Whitacre as postmaster at Shockeysville in this county.
