Athey Sargent a 31 year old carpenter of Stephens City lies in Memorial Hospital after falling unconscious from heat and a possible head injury at a residence under construction just south of Winchester. Doctors report no fractures and say he regained consciousness this morning with a satisfactory condition. The site replaces a home destroyed by fire last December 20 and will have seven rooms and a bath.

Man Drowns After Clothes Catch Fire On Cruiser
John W. Brightenberg, 33, drowned in the Potomac after leaping into the water with clothes afire to escape a gasoline fire in his cabin cruiser. Three companions were rescued by a passing boat near Haines Point. only one life preserver was shared among them. Brightenberg, manager of the District Yacht Company, built the 39 foot cruiser.
