Record 114 U S Air Missions Mark North Viet Nam Day

U S jets set a record with 114 air missions in North Viet Nam on Thursday. MIGs engaged American aircraft four times as U S forces struck a major bridge near Hanoi and damaged other targets. U S pilots claimed two MIG 21 kills near Hanoi and reported missiles and encounters with enemy aircraft, while additional strikes hit radar sites and rail lines. In South Viet Nam, fighting remained light except in the north where Marines clashed with Communist forces.
