Death of Harry Chrismore in Eagles Building
Harry Chrismore aged about 52 or 62 was found dead in the Eagles Building on Boscawen Street with a bullet wound in the head. Initially believed an accidental fall in the furnace room, the coroner and Dr H S Pifer later concluded suicide. The body lay on the first floor near the furnace room with witnesses noting his cheerful mood prior to his death. He leaves a wife, several children, and his mother Mrs Virginia Newman. Chrismore had long been a member of Winchester Aerie Fraternal Order of Eagles and previously ran a poolroom.

Hugh Williams, a cook at the Star restaurant on East Bosca wen street, found a 50 pound turtle yesterday in the town run behind the property. The turtle likely came from near the headwaters of the rup on the Glass property and followed the run into town. It will be made into soup.
