Conrad Hoover Post No. 21 of the American Legion announces plans to build a new Post Home on four and a half acres of property on U S Route 7 about one mile east of Winchester. Four fires struck Frederick County since noon Thursday with about 4000 dollars in damage. A barn on the James Bowman farm near Stephens City burned at 11:30 p m with Perry Painter reporting the blaze. Firefighters from Stephens City Shawnee Middletown fought the flames. the nearby Painter home saved with scorched paint and a broken window. Water from Bowmans pool and a thawed pump aided efforts. No stock was in the barn.
