Night clothes flee fire destroys Berryville area home
Mr and Mrs Harry McDonald and four children escaped in night attire as their eight room frame house on the Charley McDonald farm near Berryville burned. Neighbors supplied clothing while fire crews from Berryville and Winchester fought the blaze but water shortages and an empty booster tank allowed the structure to burn. The meat house and contents were partially saved. the family plans to move into a tenant house with help from relatives. The family, long on the farm, includes Savannah Orndorff as the mother and children William 16 Anna Jane 10 Harry Allen 5 and Delores 18 months.
