Forgotten Cigarette Sparks Minor House Fire
A forgotten cigarette started a small fire at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Johnson at 412 BE Clifford St. The blaze caused minor damage to a bureau drawer and much smoke. Mrs. Johnson left a cigarette on a purse then the insurance policy on top, igniting the drawer. Fire crews from Friendship and South End extinguished the flames. all occupants unharmed.
