Stanley Cooley a Strasburg former oil distributor faced charges from state gasoline inspectors for transporting gasoline into Virginia and selling it without paying the five cent tax. Judge Donald L. Weems imposed a $50 fine and a suspended three month sentence on each of two counts. Cooley was arrested after officers said his large tank truck lacked proper branding. Prosecutors said he bought gasoline in Maryland or along the Chesapeake Bay and delivered it in Maryland and Virginia.
