Car Crash Involving Alfred Steeles Near Riverton Injures Five
A collision near Riverton on Saturday night injured five people, two severely. Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Harris of Riverton suffered serious injuries, their son in law Marvin Steel sustained facial cuts and bruises, while Alfred Steele and his companion escaped major harm. The Harris car had halted before Steele’s vehicle crashed into it. The Harris house near Reliance burned the night of January 9.

Drunks and fights fill the court as Judge Donald L. Weems imposes fines totaling 175.75. Among the offenders are Phil Ritter and Robert Goss fined 10.75 each for a fight and drunkenness. Four youths colored were jailed and fined for carrying guns razors and a blackjack during a 2 15 afternoon alley disturbance on Highland avenue and Kern alley. Ray Fletcher known as Slim Jim, the alleged automobile bandit, was brought to Winchester Saturday afternoon by State Officer George F. Miller. Police found checks and blank forms among his possessions. He is charged with four automobile thefts in Winchester and Martinsburg last week and with forging signatures on checks. He also faces questions about bigamy in connection with his marriages.

Front Royal Shooting Leaves One Dead
Willie Flynn, a 33 year old colored man from Front Royal, dies from gunshot wounds after a dispute with Isaac Tanley, also colored, who is jailed in Warren County on the charge. The shooting occurred around 8:30 p m near Flynn's home, with both men reportedly drinking and a double barreled shotgun used at close range.
