Temperature Swing Sparks Townspeople Cheer

Residents reported a rapid temperature rise from 29 to 43 degrees between 6 and 7 PM, observed on two thermometers. At Winchester Research Laboratory the official reading was 45 at 10 PM and 31 overnight. Forecasts predict temperatures in the 40s through tomorrow.

Sheep Die Mysteriously on Utah Range

More than 1,250 sheep have died on a western Utah range about 150 miles from a site where thousands were killed by Army nerve gas in 1968. Possible causes include nerve gas mishap, radioactive dust from a nuclear test, or loco weed. Lab tests continued at Utah State University through the night.
