Buses Destroyed in Chester City Garage Fire
A $500000 blaze in Chester Pennsylvania destroyed 36 buses at the Southern Pennsylvania Bus Co garage. The fire caused 2000 residents to flee as 15 explosions and winds carried embers 1500 feet. Firefighters from five Chester companies battled the oil fed flames for an hour. many buses were destroyed and 15 of 51 buses were driven out by 15 employees.

Trucker Killed Trying to Pass Car on Curve
Isaac Hardy Nichols of Petersburg Virginia was killed when his trailer truck lost control on Route 522 four miles north of here while attempting to pass a pickup on a curve near Nain. The crash hurtled the tractor and trailer, pinning Nichols inside. two cars were involved and another truck struck the wreckage during towing. Nichols, born June 23, 1918 in Cleveland County North Carolina, leaves a wife four brothers and a sister. The body was moved from Jones funeral home to J H Morriss funeral home Petersburg.
