In Philadelphia on January 11 the British freighter Australind bound for New York was boarded by customs officials after a crew error led to a misidentification. The master exclaimed there had been a mistake upon being challenged.
Senator Glass of Virginia is using a rabbit’s foot as a good luck charm. The charm hangs from his watch chain in a gold mount and was a birthday gift from Mrs. Woodrow Wilson. He notes it has not yet brought strong luck, explaining this to reporters with a smile.
New bi weekly broadcasts begin February 2 on WEAF NBC to entertain the Byrd Antarctic Expedition. Programs from Radio City New York will air at 11 30 with the expedition Mail Bag from WGEO Schenectady and feature newspapers across the country.
