Turning Point of Low Mood Reported Seen
New York, Jan. 8. A ke blewer notes that prices had the inter allied debt problem faced earlier, Albert Wiggin described 1932 as the turning point mis. He said it would be business for our government to initiate a reduction in these debts at this time. Wiggin retired as chair of Chase National Bank and led the bankers committee on Germany. He argued that 1932 marked a shift from emergency credit to a ramp for restoring credit, markets, and farm prices. He praised Roosevelt’s victory for unity in government and foreign trade policy, and urged funding floating debt while cautioning against overlong market reliance. He described Germany’s improved conditions and supported banking reform through supervision, not prohibitions, citing Glass measures.
