Coal Miner Severely Hurt Jumping From Moving Train
Clifford Skaggs 20 of Ansted West Virginia lost his right leg above the ankle after leaping from Norfolk and Western freight train No. 64 in Berryville. He was transported to Winchester Memorial Hospital where doctors amputa ted the limb. His companion Raymond Shifflett remained aboard until Shenandoah Junction and returned to Berryville.

Harry Thaw Injured In Auto Crash On Baltimore Frederick Road
Harry Thaw suffered a broken right arm and shock in an automobile accident on the Baltimore Frederick highway five miles east of here. He was hospitalized for at least two days though doctors said his condition was not serious. Thaw and E Morgan Pendleton were riding in a car that blew a tire and went into a culvert. Pendleton was not injured.
