Mrs. Virginia Faulkner McSherry of Martinsburg widow of Dr James Whann McSherry dies at home after a long illness. She was daughter of Charles J Faulkner and Mary Boyd, sister to Mrs Mary B Campbell of Winchester and sister-in-law to the late Mrs W W Love. She served in church and charity work and was noted for vitality and unselfish service. Funeral Monday from Trinity Church.

Three Men Drowned In Sour Mash Well
Three men Jack Wehunt Homer Wehunt and Chas Gad were drowned in an old well near Dahlonega Georgia after federal agents dumped sour mash into it following illicit still destruction. Children heard cries for help as the men attempted to dip up the liquid ten miles from town. The rescue party found them dead upon arrival.

Frederick farmer Joseph Roe dies by self-inflicted gunshot
Joseph Roe a 60 year old Frederick county farmer died at his home northeast of Winchester after shooting himself in the head with a shotgun. Family heard the blast, attempted aid, but he died shortly after. He had suffered a long decline with a nervous breakdown and had recently returned from a Pennsylvania sanitarium with his son. He is survived by his widow Julia Winkfield Roe, a son Joseph Roe Jr, two daughters Julia and Goldie, two brothers Henry and George, three sisters Mary Sara and Mrs Fletcher, and brothers-in-law John Fred and James Winkfield. Funeral arrangements not set by late afternoon.

Mr and Mrs C G Crawford of Kernetown report their son Dr Frank Crawford, a medical missionary in China, is recovering after a severe appendicitis attack and operation at Kashing on January 1. Surgeon Dr Venable performed the brain case procedure. he was critically ill for weeks but is regaining health. Dr Crawford serves in Kaiangyin, China.
