Plan To Raise Wheat Price To Be Fought By President
Washington Feb 21 The administration will use full influence if needed to block bills in Congress seeking higher wheat prices. Opponents argue such measures would disrupt the food adminstration wheat and bread program and that Wilson has authority to readjust prices. Wheat now sells at 2.20 a bushel, backed by government purchases for military and Allies. The food administration has set profit scales for mills and distributors and bread is sold at a fixed rate. Bills seek to raise the minimum price to 2 a bushel for next season, aiming to curb old wheat from entering markets and threaten to halt flow to terminals and mills. Officials say there is no power to release grain, complicating the price debate.

Death of Ephriam D. Grimes in Baltimore
Telegram from Winchester reports Ephriam D. Grimes died in Baltimore after a paralysis stroke at his son in law and daughter Harry J Turtle and Mrs. Turtle residence. He was over 80 and had lived in Winchester for years with many friends before moving to Baltimore. Survived by three daughters Mrs Turfie Mrs Alice M Grim and Mrs William Shenk a son Robert Grimes a brother James Grimes. Several relatives were in Baltimore at his passing. Robert Owens, farm worker near Rest, was shot in the head by one of several colored boys while birds were being shot in the northern city area. The shallow wound from a .22 rifle was treated locally and Owens is expected to recover.
