The Rev. Thomas B. Martin left his pastorate at the Church of the Sacred Heart and will become pastor of the Roanoke church, the largest of four Catholic parishes in the city, this week.
York city officials move to hire special counsel to contest the will of G. Ernest Bantz of Baltimore. The residuary estate valued over 50 000 is to fund Bantz Park in memory of Julia Hartman. A Baltimore niece contests the will claiming undue influence and lack of testamentary capacity. The answer will be filed in Baltimore next Friday. Bantz, 85, was a longtime resident of Frederick and Winchester frequenter.

Cape May N J February 17 Two to four men die as a gale drives the Carroll a barge of Eastern Transport Company from Norfolk to New York. Two missing crewmen are found frozen in lifeboats. the tug Montrose left twelve aboard to the storm. The Coast Guard Tampa recovered two others but Carroll sailed for open sea and was last seen in heavy seas.
Dudley Crabtree Jr. is arrested by federal officers on liquor transport charge. Judge A G Hughes reserves ruling on Walter Crabtree’s motion for a new trial, delaying to the March term. Walter Crabtree was convicted of first degree murder in Hampshire County, facing automatic death penalty.
Delia Parago of 542 North Kent Street died at 9 this morning after a two month illness from heart trouble. She was the widow of O C Parago and daughter of John and Martha Miller. Surviving children are Jerry and Robert Brown of this city Maggie Fisher of Steelton Pa and Sarah Brown of New York City. Sister Martha Ellen Jackson of Steelton also survives. Funeral Wednesday at 3 p m from Free Will Baptist Church with Rev S S Spriggs officiating burial in Orrick Cemetery.
Eeight of twelve defendants in the Pottawatomie county liquor conspiracy case were convicted in federal court in Oklahoma City including Frank Fox former sheriff. Randal Pittman county attorney and three others were acquitted in the ruling reported February seventeenth.
Earl Borland was found buried under five feet of snow near the wrecked plane that had been thrown about 100 feet from the engine. The discovery came as wireless advices reported from POINT BASRO Alaska on February 17. The men, Borland and Carl Van Eilson, were flying toward the icebound district of Nannuk in November.
The Rev. Father Thomas B. Martin rector of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in this city said goodbye to parishioners and Winchester townspeople at his last public Sunday mass. He spoke of farewell touching the heart and prayed for God to be with them.

In Wooster Ohio on February 17 1929 searchers abandoned hopes of recovering Melvin Horst four who vanished December 27 1928. Charles Hanna and Earl Connald both jailed signed mutual accusation statements that each killed Melvin in a nearby Orrville garage. Both deny the other's charge and say they know nothing more.
President Hoover and Mrs Hoover arrived in Washington re energized after a week in Florida. He and his party left their private car at the station and went to the White House for breakfast. The return comes as the city endures one of the severest cold spells of the season.
