Nelson F Richards announces a mass meeting for Friday February 28 at 8 p m in the George Washington Hotel to launch the festival. The gathering seeks broad community participation and will include business and railroad representation plus new regional interests.
A 10 member committee led by J. A. McKinney Jr. met to set the year's work for community agriculture in northern Virginia. They aim to boost use of pure bred seed, dairy and poultry knowledge, and practical market information to help farmers produce and market goods efficiently. The group will meet periodically to advise the instructor and guide the agricultural program.
The Girls Athletic Association prepares Span ish Moon a comedy set in New York and Spain. Claire Lewis is played by Mary Sullivan with the advertising firm setting and romance central. Cast includes Elsie May Gaunt Dorothy Anderson Tom Warren and Harry Dunn among others.

Col Samuel Rolfe Miller owner and editor of the Warren Sentinel died at his Mountain View Front Royal home after a months long illness. A Front Royal native he served as US consul at Leipsis taught economics at UVA and Washington and Lee. He founded Eastern College and led in local business and civic life. He survived by five children and his wife Bertha Riedel Miller. Funeral held at his home with burial in the family vault.
Civic League calls on all members to join the committee and raise funds to provide milk for under nourished children at John Kerr School. Each member should recruit five friends. paying children contribute pennies to aid those who cannot. Mrs. Phil Gold, treasurer.
Chicago lawyer Robert Isham Randolph heads a secret committee of seven investigating Chicago lawlessness. He is described as a fighter with Virginia stock and Clarke and Loudoun county family ties. His mother wintered in Albemarle county. his Civil War veteran father Isham Randolph was a noted engineer and Panam a Canal contributor.

The Red Birds Winchester Park Association basketball team will meet a strong Brunswick quintet at Handley High School gym Monday night at 8. The Brunswick team is described as one of the strongest in the area and reportedly undefeated this year. The Red Birds are practicing hard in anticipation of a close contest and officials encourage fans to attend.
