A Shenandoah Valley Academy party of six—three injured, two uninjured, and one uninjured with shock—was in a late night collision with an Imperial Ice Cream Co truck on the Valley pike near Kernstown. Hearing for Etue on Robbery Charge of Chief Sunny Sky
Clarence Etue was given a three month suspended sentence on condition he pays costs totaling about $53 after admitting to taking $40 from Chief Sunny Sky's wallet last Saturday night. He said the money was his two weeks’ work due and that he took no other funds. Chief Sky indicated he might drop the charge. Etue, in his twenties, said he met Sky two weeks ago and left for Roanoke to see his mother, planning to head to North Carolina. He is married to Mrs. W. F. Etue. his mother and cousin were in Roanoke to raise funds for costs. Etue expects release today or tomorrow. Chief Sky had been in Washington yesterday, delaying the hearing. The Chief also spoke to local schoolchildren about a small admission charge for tubercular Troquois children in New York. Other court items included Frank Kiernan, a Washington taxi operator, fined $100 and license revoked for intoxicated driving after bringing a reporter to town. Walter Floyd fined $5 and costs for drunk and disorderly conduct. Harrison Diehl forfeited $10.75 collateral for failing to appear on a drunk charge.
