New Engine Passes Tests for Friendship Fire Company
The Friendship Fire Company tested a modernized engine in Bartonsville with water drawn from the Opequon under supervision by H. H. Welker of American La France and Rosenberger of the Southeastern Underwriters Association. Driver Lester Forney operated the truck as 1166 gallons per minute were pumped in a two hour first test through three 200 foot hoses with 1 inch nozzles. A 200 pound pressure 500 foot run with 1 1/2 inch nozzles followed for 30 minutes and another 30 minute test at 250 pounds through 500 feet of hose with 1 inch nozzles completed the series. All participants reported excellent results.
