Metal stake penetrates surveyor's head in fatal looking accident
A metal stake pierced Bpbttswood Dandridge's head after he slipped while crossing a log on the Nadenbusch tract, fourteen miles southwest of Gore Ridge. Witness Isaiah Wright pulled the stake free. Dandridge was rushed to Winchester for care. Doctors cauterized the wound and his condition was listed as favorable but uncertain. Dandridge, a long-time local surveyor, is the sole survivor of his family.
