J Osburn Renalds 32 died at Front Royal after his clothes caught on a line shaft in C C Proctor's mill. Both legs torn off, body found near the shaft. He lived with wife Catherine Punkhouser Renalds, survived by four sisters and five brothers.

Sheriff Pannett received an Ohio attorney general opinion on a $50 Virginia to Ohio deposit. The money guarantees a prisoner’s return under interstate requisition for Ira D. Sanger, indicted in Frederick county for horse stealing. Sanger fled to Ohio and was captured in Champaign county.
Clarke and Frederick counties prize a concrete bridge over Opequon Creek at Wadlesville after bids. Monongahela Valley Engineering Co of Morgantown WV submitted the winning bid of 8964.07. State funds cover half the cost with county shares split. the bridge aims to reduce frequent fording dangers and accidents.
Mrs. David Johnson of this city died last evening at City Hospital Martinsburg West Virginia after an operation to remove goiter. Initial success gave way to collapse from a weakened heart and rapid decline. Funeral set for tomorrow at two at her home 505 Fairmont Avenue with Rev Dr Tatbert and Rev W T Walters officiating. Interment Mount Hebron Cemetery. Pallbearers named Comtex Smith Britt Miller Hartman Pine.
Winchester residents report their son Robert Lee Gray Jr remains at post in Hanover Brunswick as American consul and diplomat Gerard faced uncertainty. With break in relations, families fear but see no hostile actions yet. Gray previously led consulates after Michaelson and Adbert departures.
Washington reports that Ambassador Gerard and American consuls are not being held as hostages but their status could prompt serious reactions. Germany has simply delayed passports for American officials while U S actions against German ships are contested. Officials stress efforts to clear the atmosphere and smooth relations under the old Prussian treaty.
