Death summons Harry F. Stipe near Ridgeway
Harry F. Stipe died yesterday afternoon at his home near Ridgeway Berkeley County West Virginia in the fifty ninth year of age after a period of declining health. He lived on a farm in youth and later worked in woolen mills including Dunn Woolen at Bunker Hill and Brucetown Woolen in Brucetown. Surviving relatives include his wife Blanche Fox four daughters and one son. Funeral at Ridgeway at 2 pm Thursday conducted by Rev M Neel and Rev O D Lambert with interment at Rest Church cemetery. Pallbearers named.

Fire wipes out big lumber mill at Hagerstown
Fire destroyed the William A. Danzer and Company plant in Hagerstown and two adjacent houses early today. Losses were revised to about 250000 with 60 workers left idle. Fire spread rapidly in a stiff breeze, aided by low water pressure. nearby towns aided as embers ignited several rooftops.

Brannon Held To Decide Jail Or Hospital After Appeal
After doctors assessed Charles Brannon health affecting his case for possessing 36 pints of ardent spirits, Judge Donald Weems ordered either hospitalization for recovery or immediate sentence. Brannon's attorney said an appeal would be filed with the Corporation Court while Brannon chose not to accept Memorial Hospital care and was released on $500 bond pending the next term.
