A blaze in Fall River’s business district threatens losses potentially reaching 25 million dollars. Fire crews battled the flames, with damage spreading to multiple stores and offices as investigators assessed the scene for a cause.
Massive fire in Fall River Massachusetts swept the business district destroying at least 12 major buildings. The Pocasset Mills site fueled the blaze with oil soaked floors as embers fanned by strong winds reached banks hotels theatres and a church. No lives lost but 2000 workers faced unemployment as fire crews from nearby cities battled the flames through the night.
The third rehearsal for the Firemen's Frolic will be at Friendship Hall tonight at 8 p.m. The director requests punctual arrival for early practice. Local singers and dancers are urged to attend and assist the firemen as songs and parts are assigned.

Mrs Ada Jones wife of John W Jones longtime resident and retired carpenter died at her home 5601 South Cameron street about 11 o clock in the forenoon after several days of critical illness from kidney disease. Family members near and distant attended as funeral arrangements were being planned.
