Fatal fire not caused by gas say Ritter survivors
Survivors of a two family home fire say a gas stove and its pilot light did not start the blaze that killed 18 year old Ruth Ritter Tuesday. The cause remains unknown and John Carlisle 82 called for help after a blast. Ruth tried to reach others upstairs but flames blocked her path. Death is listed as suffocation. Funeral services are scheduled for tomorrow at 2 p.m. at John H Joy Funeral Home with Rev R W Brendle officiating.
