Attorney General Apperson Dies at 57 in Richmond
Harvey B. Apperson, Virginia attorney general since 1947, died at 1:30 a.m. at his home in Richmond after a heart attack. He served in the State Senate from 1933 to 1944 and on the State Corporation Commission from 1944 to 1950. Born June 28 1890 in Marion he studied at VPI and Washington and Lee. Funeral is set for Wednesday at St. Pauls Salem with burial at East Hill. survived by his wife two sons and several siblings.

Theft of Turkey Brings Heavy Jail Sentence
Edwin Wymer of Star Tannery pleaded guilty in Corporation court to grand larceny of a turkey. He received a $50 fine and six months in jail, suspended after 15 days if he pays the fine and costs and $9.28 to R. P. Sager. Four co defendants pled innocent and face March term trials. Other inmates include John Martin Ward jailed 30 days for assault and battery plus fines for drunk and disorderly behavior. Ernest Shook fined for assault and battery and being drunk and disorderly after wife prosecution. Additional depositions: Robert Foreman paid for disorderly conduct and Elmer White fined for a like charge.

The Chesapeake and Potomac Telephone Co of Virginia authorizes over 2.9 million dollars for statewide expansion and improvement, including a 104000 rural project at Winchester. Local manager Cc. P.
