In Richmond Virginia February 2 police officers L C Matthews and James I Pillow were critically injured in an early morning crash after a patrol car collided with a car they pursued in the Church Hill district. Matthews suffered a cerebral concussion fractured ribs and pelvis with Pillow having concussion possible skull fracture facial lacerations and head injuries. Both officers were thrown from the car as two men fled the other vehicle and illegal corn liquor was found inside.
