Police Captain Dies After Felling Fugitive in Scranton Hotel
Scranton Pennsylvania December 27 Captain Albert Gleason night commander of the city police and fugitive John Hrebener alias Conway both died after a pistol battle on a hotel third floor. Detective George Donaldson led the pursuit and Gleason was mortally wounded as they attempted to force the suspect’s door. The fugitive’s body was found on a roof with a bullet wound.
