New York reports eleven liquor deaths during Christmas week, with 73 people jailed for alcoholism. Mrs Delia Keating widow of Colonel Keating dies after a lengthy illness in Cumberland. She survived by daughters Miss Katherine Keating and John Keating a student at the University of Pennsylvania. Funeral at St Patrick Church with burial at the Catholic Cemetery beside her husband.
The funeral for George W. Nelson, who died Christmas morning at his 562 North Loudoun street home, was held with services at Timber Ridge Christian Church. Rev. Courtney H. Anderson conducted, burial followed in the adjoining cemetery. Survived by widow Alice Dunlop and three sons Cody Edgar and Harry, plus siblings.

Mrs. Mary Alice Zirkle widow of Abram M. Zirkle died Friday afternoon Christmas Eve at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, David and Mrs. Patterson, in San Francisco after a long illness from acute indigestion and heart-related issues. Funeral services are set for Wednesday in Winchester with interment at Mount Hebron Cemetery.
Billy Glaize son of Mrs William Glaize of South Cameron street had a bicycle accident on West Piccadilly street when a bag stuck in the front wheel. He suffered a badly cut chin other cuts and bruises and a front tooth knocked out which was put back in place and should grow again. He was treated at home and expected to be out today.
On Sedalia’s main street lawyer Claude Wilkerson was shot and killed as he neared his offices. The shooter Robert K. Beardwell, whose son and another man died earlier in a deputy sheriff pursuit linked to a bank robbery, allegedly believed Wilkerson tipped off officers about their movements.
William Royse a longtime resident died at ten in the morning at the home of Mrs. Pence Baker on North Main Street Wing. He was 65 born June 19, 1862 and worked on railroad construction and later helped build Winchester Cold Storage. Survived by two children Frank Royse and Katherine Payne, plus stepfather Robert Beatley and siblings. Mrs. Alice Belle Faulkner widow of Isaac H. Faulkner died at home on North Kent Street Christmas Eve after weeks of heart trouble. Funeral held at two o'clock from her home with burial in Mount Hebron Cemetery beside her husband. she left four daughters and a sister. Officials note Royse was a Foreman with Winchester Cold Storage and Faulkner supported Confederate veterans and charitable causes.
The Christian Endeavor Societies of Winchester and vicinity will hold a union service and social at the Presbyterian Church on Friday night December 31 from about 9 30 to 11 15 with devotional service to follow into the new year. Rev. Mr Earp will lead the program with Miss Frances McFaden in charge of the social portion and the Union Orchestra providing music. Light refreshments may be served and all Endeavor members and the public are invited.

BELLEFONTE Pa Dec 27 Paul Orlakowski and Paul Fasci convicted murderers died in the electric chair at Rockview penitentiary Neither man made any statement or admission of guilt nor answered when asked if he had anything to say before the current was applied Orlakowski was convicted in Pittsburgh for taking part in a February 1922 riot at the western penitentiary in which two guards were killed Fasci was an alleged member of a seven man band that held up and robbed an electric car near Wilkes Barre in July 1923 killing a passenger He was convicted in Scranton
Constable C. Lee Barr has been appointed deputy city sergeant at the request of City Sergeant Adam Forney who is ill at home. Barr took the oath and the order of appointment is being prepared. He will serve while Forney is absent and may continue as deputy upon Forney's return.
