Death House Fire Kills Seventeen at Dunnings Insane Asylum
Chicago dispatch reports a devastating blaze at the Dunnings state hospital for the insane destroying a dormitory known as the death house. Seventeen dead include mostly patients with fourteen identified as inmates and three attendants among the victims. Fire crews struggled through mud as hundreds of patients fled, with many still missing or unaccounted today.

Death of Arthur A. Dancy Sent to Canandaigua NY
The remains of Arthur A. Dancy who died Wednesday at Memorial Hospital will be sent by train to Canandaigua New York accompanied by his widow Bessie Dancy and family. Dancy died from uremic poisoning after Brights disease lasting five weeks. He previously worked at Stephens City VA in an apple evaporating plant and had lived in the area after coming from Fairport NY. He was 42 years 11 months and 15 days old and is survived by his widow and several children. Funeral arrangements were handled by Geo W Kurtz.

Bullet Fired at Japanese Prince Regent
A 20 year old man dressed as a laborer fired a can gun at Prince Regent Hirohito in Tokyo as he traveled to a Diet session. The bullet shattered the car window but did not strike the prince, who continued to the Diet and later held sessions with heavy guard.

The couple planned a bridal tour and will reside after February.

Desecration of Church Attributed To Bootleggers Raid near Hancock
In Maryland, Christmas night 10 men stormed the Methodist Church at Black Road six miles from Hancock. They damaged the building and beat congregation members including two women after breaking windows. Isaac Bishop and L B Richards were assaulted when trying to intervene. Church members aided authorities in breaking up stills and arresting bootleggers.

Aaron Kauffman is Buried in Mount Hebron Cemetery
Funeral services were held for Aaron Kauffman whose death was caused by brain hemorrhage at his son's home in Cherrydale Virginia. The service conducted by Rev Boyd V Switzer took place at his sister Mrs Susan Dodsons home and burial followed in Mount Hebron Cemetery. Pallbearers named were A G Bentzel W O Zinn Irvin Zinn A D Scott John Lamb and Charles Patton. The body arrived in Winchester on the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad, then went to Mrs Dodsons residence to await burial.
