In Hagerstown Maryland the Blue Ridge Transportation Company resumes service at 8 15 am after a continuous meeting ended. AFL union representative A H Keeler and manager A F McDonald said drivers voted to return following a wage proposal for January. Routes from Pittsburgh to Washington and Harrisburg to Winchester were stalled during the stoppage. The union seeks a 40 hour week with no pay cut from the wartime 48 hours while the company offered a five cent per hour increase.

Walnut Springs Church Burns at Oranda near Strasburg
The 54 year old Walnut Springs Christian Church at Oranda four miles north of Strasburg burned Sunday about 10 am. Fire trucks could not control the blaze due to water shortages and advanced flames while the furnace had overheated earlier.
