In a county court hearing Justice Taverner dismissed the cases of Beverley B Wright and Semples and Centres over billboard violations. Semples and Yents firm testified he ordered removal of the offending sign on Washington road near the pike to Front Royal. Wright claimed he did not place or authorize the sign and was not an agent of Oldsmobile. the sign was erected by a commercial sign company.

Mother and son burn victims show slow improvement

Mrs. Richard Ebersole and her seven month old son Boyd Richard, burned when an oil lamp exploded in their Vaucluse home early Sunday, were reported improving at Memorial Hospital though still in pain. The boy's burns were most severe and his condition remained critical yesterday, but showed improvement this morning.

Hambleton Financier Found Dead At Home In Maryland

T Edward Hambleton president of Hambleton and Company was found shot to death at his Lutherville residence. A coroner ruled death by own action. He married Adelaide McAlpin 20 years ago and recently faced divorce proceedings. He held a World War II era brigadier general rank and left a $4 million life insurance. Survivors include his widow and a son at Yale.

Trenary Dies in Cumberland Hospital at 32

Robert E. Trenary 32, former Winchester native, died Sunday in Memorial Hospital Cumberland Md after a December 1 admission. He headed Paca-Les Grocery Co Cumberland and is survived by widow Elizabeth Bonig Trenary, parents, a sister Helen and brother C Webster. He held Masonic, Knights of Pythias and other memberships. Prisoners to have Christmas feast at city jail

Chester Dodd badly injured as gun explodes

Chester R. Dodd founder of the Dodd Super-Service gasoline stations in Winchester was critically wounded about 9 am when an automatic pistol exploded in his overcoat pocket. The bullet pierced his abdomen and lodged near the spine. He was taken to Memorial Hospital and underwent surgery after an X-ray showed the bullet’s location. His condition remained critical.
