Washington reports a 0.7 percent rise in overall consumer prices driven by higher service costs including auto insurance and mortgage rates. Food prices eased, gasoline fell, while durable goods orders fell 1.2 percent and shipments dropped 2.7 percent signaling slower post-recession recovery.
