Comptroller Highlights Retirement Need For Elder State Workers
Comptroller Leroy Hodges cites his office as an example of the need for a retirement system for elderly state employees. He notes many workers are loyal but not adaptable to new methods, forcing younger staff to take on new work while old workers remain on payroll. He warns overhead costs rise and details plans as bookkeeping moves to mechanical systems. He also discusses surplus funds and fiscal recommendations in a citizen’s handbook on state finances.
