Trudeau Dinner Medal valued by collectors after 1970s sale
The Trudeau Dinner Medal minted by Lombardo in 1969 was limited to 3 000 bronze copies for a $100 plate Toronto dinner. It rose from $50 offer in 1970 to about $150 by 1972 and may be worth more as collectors discover it. The obverse features Pierre Elliott Trudeau and the date March 5 1969. A later note urges cataloging coins to reveal true value and warns guests may own items worth more than the dinner price. The piece highlights small minting and unheralded medals. Community notices of Christmas events follow.
