Six Youths Hurt As Auto Strikes Tree On Welltown Pike
Six young people aged 13 to 21 were injured when a 1946 Buick went out of control on a curve and hit a tree 3.2 miles north of Winchester on the Welltown Pike at 11 10 p m. Five were hospitalized in satisfactory or good condition. one passenger was treated and released. Driver was Donald West 17 of Clearbrook. Injuries ranged from fractured jaw and leg to facial lacerations and concussion. Rescue crews freed West after about 15 minutes. The car was declared a total loss.
