Siler Inland Road Boom With $78 000 Upgrade
A $78 000 road improvement project began last week in Siler to Gainesboro. Echols Brothers of Staunton started grading widening and surfacing about four miles of Secondary Highway 600 with a six inch stone base. The work completes a six mile paved link from the Gainesboro post office to the Whitacre Brothers store near Brush Creek.

Area Accidents Injure Three Since Yesterday
Three people were injured in area crashes since yesterday. Marion Charles Cooper, 44, of 132 S Cameron St, suffered possible head injuries after being struck by a 1929 Ford pickup at S Kent and E Cork Sts. His condition was listed as good at Memorial Hospital. Frances Ruble, 45, of Bunker Hill, W Va, bruised her hip when her car rolled on ice five miles north of Clear Brook on Rt 669. James Kerr, 30, of Baltimore, was hospitalized after a crash on US Rt 340 south of Gaylord in Clarke County.
