Court of Claims Faces Novel Questions in New Term
Washington December 8. The Court of Claims opened its new term with nearly two billion dollars in war era claims. From 733 suits totaling 187 million on July 1 1921 to about 200 suits totaling 1.816 billion by November 15 1926. In the year ended June 30 1926 the court decided 1348 suits totaling 70.38 million. Claims cover diverse topics from stamp book royalties to a 10 million gliding machine and 30 million for radio apparatus. Some suits seek damages for injuries to persons and property and for prohibition seizures and loss of support for families. The court also reported counterclaims and recovered judgments amounting to nearly two million dollars and about 600 thousand in treasury collections.
