False Alarm Fines $500 in Police Court
Two men pleaded guilty to turning in a false fire alarm and received $250 fines and six month sentences. Edward Mills 25 Stephen son and Oscar McKay 18 211 Mill ve were arrested after a call from F B Benner Transfer Co at 116 N Cameron St triggered fire apparatus. Mills confessed to placing the call and McKay admitted a prior false alarm. Police and fire officials coordinated the investigation and lectures on the offense followed the rulings.

The United Nations assembly voted to adjourn its Paris session on the night of December 11 and 12 and reconvene in New York on April 1, 1949.
