Man who cut up body of a woman loses appeal
The State Supreme Court refused a new trial for David L. Marshall who is serving 100 to 20 years for the killing of Anna May Deitrich. Marshall, an unlicensed chiropractor, admitted dismembering the body and threw the parts into woods near Philadelphia. He claimed the death was not by his hand, alleging a wrong drug was involved in a treatment he prescribed.

Death of Charles Beck Jr in Harrisonburg from glandular fever
Charles Beck Jr aged five, son of Mr and Mrs Charles Beck of South Liberty Street Harrisonburg Va, died Saturday afternoon from glandular fever after a brief illness. He attended the Main Street kindergarten and was beloved by bakery workers where his father helped found Harrisonburg Baking Action.
