Joint Meeting Between Winchester and Frederick Officials Postponed
A planned joint meeting of Winchester and Frederick County government and law enforcement leaders was postponed from today at 2 p.m. due to prior commitments by several city officials. Thomas Rosenberger, Frederick County Board of Supervisors chair, requested the session to clarify cross jurisdiction police operations. The meeting will be rescheduled on a mutually convenient date after criticism during a Winchester Council session about the sheriff's department halting city radar dispatching. Sheriff Lacy Anderson had offered no comment until the joint gathering. The Valley Turnpike between Winchester and Staunton dates to 1836.
