Good Menu Is Served For The Firemen's Benefit
A generous oyster supper at the South End Hose Company hall on West Monmouth Street drew a good crowd with fried oysters as the main dish and other items. Over 100 suppers were served by the ladies auxiliary to aid the hose company whose treasury is low. Suppers were also delivered by automobile to private homes. Meals included ham potatoes peas kraut rolls butter and coffee or tea. The oyster supper returns tonight and a decision will be made then on continuing the event another night.

Two Charleston men, Joe Moore 22 and James Thompson 21, were stopped near Winchester with five ten gallon kegs of corn liquor from Frog Hollow Maryland. They pleaded guilty to illegal transportation and were fined with jail terms. the car was confiscated. Moore claimed ownership of the liquor and profits were expected at $1.50 per pint retail.

Harrison, held under guard in Baltimore after a sidewalk argument in which Grace Robert of Hanover Pennsylvania was shot, contracted pneumonia in Maryland General Hospital where he is reported much worse. Robert, wounded in the chest, will recover, and she had accused Harrison of firing after declining a marriage proposal. Harrison says he did not shoot and offered his revolver during the incident.

Chapman Claims Arrest Illegal In Liquor Case
