Carter Glass Jr 62 copublisher and general manager of Lynchburg News and Daily Advance died at 4 15 this morning after a brain hemorrhage. He was a former Virginia state senator and president of the American Philatelic Society. Funeral set for Friday at Court Street Methodist Church. He began at the Daily Advance in 1913 as a linotype operator and is survived by his wife Ria Binford Thomas and three children.

County Man Jailed In Thanksgiving Day Break In
State police and Frederick County officers arrested James Dewey Barton for breaking into Cornwall's Tavern on U S Route 7 near the Clarke County line on Thanksgiving Day.
