Funeral services for Mrs Lettie Newcome wife of Snowden B Newcome who died yesterday after weeks of illness will be held Wednesday afternoon at the First Christian Church. Karl Melamet of Baltimore Dies at 34 From Apoplexy
Karl Melamet aged 34, son of Prof. David S. Melamet, prominent Baltimore music teacher, died last Saturday from apoplexy. He taught modern languages at Union College, the Naval Academy, the Baltimore Polytechnic Institute and Baltimore City College and was a Johns Hopkins graduate of 1915. Inspector John Underwood of Jersey City police forecast more arrests in the four year old Hall Mills murder case. He said authorities expect to take into custody more people said to have been at the scene, now charged against Mrs Frances Stevens Hall and her relatives Henry Carpender Willie Stevens and Henry de la Bruyere Carpender. An affidavit says Henry Stevens threatened Dr Hall. Clothing from the victims is locked for fingerprint analysis.

John Hook Auto Victim Remembered by Winchester Ties
John Hook, killed in a Ridgeville Maryland auto accident, had been a Winchester resident with family links in the city. He once worked in a Cumberland Valley milling venture with his father and uncle and later ran a restaurant in Hagerstown before moving there. He leaves a wife and several siblings and relatives, and died en route to Frederick City Hospital after a collision caused by hidden rear lamp while helping a fellow driver.
