American woman swims English Channel second time
Mrs Clemington Corson of New York, mother of two, completed the English Channel swim in 15 hours 28 minutes becoming the second person to do so after Gertrude Ederle. She reportedly swam about 50 miles with tidal aid, while English swimmer Perks quit 110 miles from shore after more than 14 hours.

Commander John Rodgers, a noted naval aviator, was killed late yesterday in Philadelphia. He was a near cousin of Mrs. Melvin Green of Winchester and had many friends in the area. As a youth he spent time with relatives in this city and Frederick County. He had married Ethel Greiner, a former Episcopal Female Institute graduate, but they later divorced.
