Taxi Driver Held for Court in Robbery Case
Lucius Odge, a taxi driver, was found guilty in police court before Justice Worsley of robbing Harry T a passenger. Odge was committed for the grand jury and released on $1 000 bond. The offense involved a $30 theft in a taxi with Lacy claiming intoxication and absence of corroboration. Norfolk Va August 25 players from Portsmouth and Rocky Mount Virginia league clubs will appear in court Wednesday charged with violating the Sunday labor law of Virginia. The players were arrested nine times yesterday and bond was set after each inning in a bid to test whether professional baseball can be played on Sunday. Portsmouth officials planned to sell score cards for admission, a tactic used in Baltimore.
