Youth Gets 60 Days In Jail
Ben Riley aged 23 was sentenced to sixty days in jail by Justice Tavenner in the county magistrate's court for the theft of clothing from John Bowman near Stephensons. Riley was arrested in Clarke county and delivered to Bowman who brought him to court in person. On sentencing no officer was available to take him to jail so Justice Tavenner walked him to jail and handed him to Motorcycle Policeman Guthridge for custody.
