Fruit growers sell large apple sales in Frederick County
Frederick County fruit growers reported several large apple sales to buyers. Ray Robinson sold 700 barrels of Grimes Golden at 5 dollars per barrel to Golden and Company of Washington. The J W Bowles estate sold its entire Grimes Golden crop to Goldin and Company at 4.50 per barrel. The orchard includes Staymans Yorks and Ben Davis and will yield 1500 to 2000 barrels. The price for orchards was 4000 dollars. FF Dutterer sold Yorks and Bens for 6660 dollars. Crutchfield and Woolfolk bought 5000 barrels of Grimes Golden at 5 dollars per barrel in Martinsburg.
