G W Stanley superintendent of Winchester Home Beneficial Life Insurance Company caught a four and a quarter pound bass, 21 inches long, at Capon Lake on the Capon River near Yellow Springs West Virginia. Roy Larrick verified the weight and length. Locals say it’s the largest catch in years. Stanley used a saltwater reel and rod and described a tough fight before landing the fish.
