Buckleys Accept Hotel Manager Offer in Albion Michigan

Priest Collapses and Dies at Knights of Pythias Meeting
Dr. Frank A. Priest 55 of Marion Indiana collapsed and died while addressing the Knights of Pythias Supreme Lodge in Milwaukee. He chaired the tuberculosis sanatorium committee and was speaking on a hospital project when heat aggravated heart disease. A recess was taken as the convention halted.

Two Bus Passengers Die Crossing Flooded Bridge
In a dramatic rescue attempt on Luney Mill Creek near Buchanan Virginia two men Jesse Dove 83 bus driver for the Eastern Towns Lines and A A Kraft of Springwood perished after attempting to cross a flooded bridge by clinging to a telephone wire. Dove was recovered but Kraft remains missing while other passengers escaped. The bus plus its occupants were swept downstream as the Lee Highway flood surged. Dove's body was later returned to Winchester for burial at Mount Hebron.

Truck Driver Loses Arm After Middletown Crash
Leonard Crist of Timberville Shenandoah County Va underwent amputation today at Winchester Memorial Hospital after a late night crash near Middletown. A second unnamed driver was slightly injured. both were transporting peaches from Rockingham to Baltimore when the truck overturned on a slick Valley Pike, scattering 150 bushels. The left arm was crushed and the operation between elbow and wrist was performed by Dr. Hugh Clark.

The funeral for Mary Virginia Marple widow of ex Confederate Joshua Marple and daughter of Thomas and Elizabeth Miller was held at the home of her daughter Carrie Clayton in Albin. Rev Charles Gilkeson officiated with hymns It Is Well With My Soul Abide With Me and I Would Not Live Alway. Interment followed at Mount Hebron Cemetery with pallbearers listed. Surviving relatives include four daughters three sons a brother and a sister. She was ninety and spent most of life in Frederick county gaining wide esteem.
